Baking Season

At the grocery store today, there were all the pre-Thanksgiving displays of baking supplies. I had an almost irresistible urge to start piling them in my cart. Instantly, fantasies of baking days floated into my head. Surely I needed whipping cream, flour, brown sugar, chocolate chips and Jell-o. I’d get a free jiggler mold!

This warred with the fact that half the kids are vegan, with the fact that 100% of them aren’t interested in helping, other than the decorating of the peppermint sugar cookies which aren’t on my list, but on Denise’s list. Sure, they will help, but it isn’t a picture postcard kids in the kitchen with Mom type of help.

But, boy were those exciting. And it made me think about whether I will just bake alone. I’ve got some time off this year around the holidays. Is that what I will do?

What should I make? Is it ridiculous to bake when so few will enjoy the effort?

  1. I had the same damn urge, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

Maybe we should both bake and just give people baked goods as gifts. lol

  2. Denise,
    That works!
