Man, I didn't visit here yesterday because I haven't been brave enough to try from home again (retro food always locks up my IE). We had Butt last night for dinner ;) I just settled for salt, pepper and sage on it, but this sounds good.

Who decided that the shoulder of a pig should be called the butt anyway?

Molasses is in the syrup aisle though it may also be in the cooking aisle near sugar. Best thing about molasses-it is fab on hot biscuits.

Thanks Lidian!

What a splendid name - Boston Butt! And the recipe sounds quite good too.

Your grapefruit boats inspired me today, BTW - I linked to you. Thanks!

The best part of this recipe was telling the kids we were having "Boston Butt" and then hear them try to figure out what kind of animal a "Boston Butt" might be - or what kind of fake food product it might be.

Even when it was served and someone said something about how good the pork was, we could say it's not pork, it's "Boston Butt" which confused and amused.

Heh.

I love the sound of this! Is the molasses in the syrup aisle? I've never bought it before. The sound of that with the cayenne is making me drool and it's only 6am!
