Made from a cake and includes fond favorites like canned cherry pie filling AND Dream Whip in the same recipe, so I think we can sneak it into Retro Cake Month:

Cherries in the Snow

1 angel food cake, crumbled
1 can cherry pie filling
1 8 oz cream cheese
1 large box Dream Whip
1 cup 10 x sugar

Mix cheese and sugar together. Mix Dream Whip by box directions, blend in cheese.

In bottom of large baking dish, put half of cake crumbs, then half of dream whip mixture, then half of cherries. Repeat layering. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving, better if made 1-2 days ahead. Serves 12.
