Chocolate Ice Box Cake
Before there were Jell-o pudding and other “instant” mixes for pies and cakes, Ice Box cakes were a quick cold dessert for the busy homemaker.
1 stick butter or oleo
1 c sugar
2 squares chocolate
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Vanilla wafers
Cream butter and sugar–add well beaten yolks, melted chocolate, vanilla and fold in well beated egg whites. Line a bowl with vanilla wafers and alternate the wafers with layers of chocolate mixture. Set in refrigerator to harden. Can be topped with whipped cream. Serves about 6.

This sounds totally yummy. Probably because it’s got raw eggs in it & no one wants us to eat raw eggs anymore. The sweetness of the forbidden? Maybe we should rebel & have this chocolatey goodness anyway, hm?

Yep, I thought about the raw egg thing myself. Oh yeah skeeter, we are definitely the two to take our chances with food poisoning. Maybe we could just cook the chocolate and eggs into a custard.
