Hot Roast Meat Sandwiches

September 11, 2006 by Tarrant Figlio

Ah the blue plate special! Hot Beef Sandwiches!

For each sandwich, butter lightly 2 slices of bread. Place 1 slice in the center of the serving plate, cut the other slice into 2 triangles and place on on each side of the whole slice. Arrange sliced hot roast meat on the whole bread slice and pour hot meat gravy over the meat and the rest of the bread. For a full luncheon plate, serve mashed potato on the same plate, and a serving of jelly or fruit pickles either on the plate or in a side  dish. Apple sauce is good with a hot pork sandwich; mint jelly with lamb, or apple jelly with roast beef.  The Modern Family Cookbook
