Lime Fluff
Now, this one is interesting. I never have seen one with tapioca and egg whites like this. Anyone game for trying it? It sounds much different from the retro whipped cream fluff classic.
From The Modern Family Cookbook
5 tablespoons quick tapioca
2½ cups water
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup lime juice
½ teaspoon grated lime rind
2 egg whites
Mix tapioca, water, sugar, butter and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add lime juice and rind. Beat egg whites until stiff. Pour hot tapioca mixture over them, beating well while pouring. Cool, then chill thoroughly. 5 servings.

I don’t like tapioca, my father loved it and my mother made it for him when she should have been making me egg custard instead.

OOOhhh I love your blog’s look since I also dig retro. The recipe is quite interesting. I remember making tapioca with mangoes way back

With Mangoes? Hmmm…did it turn out something like thickened mango bubble tea? Nice to see you over here. Welcome.
