Brown Sauce

June 6, 2006 by Tarrant Figlio

From The Modern Family Cookbook
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup browned flour
1 cup meat broth, good strength
¼ teaspoon salt

Melt butter in saucepan, add flour and blend thoroughly. Add broth and cook over direct heat, stirring constantly until sauce boils and thickens; add salt, reduce heat and simmer about 5 minutes. Serve with green beans or spinach. Makes about 1 cup.

My Notes: How do you know if the meat broth is “good strength”?
