Cheese Nip Casserole

Filed under: Recipes, Vegetables, retro food — Retro Food

Cheese NipsCream of Mushroom soup discussion could not be complete with the recipe that either makes you cringe or go mmmmmmmm in my house. Some people make a green bean casserole with mushroom soup and onions on top, all well and good. (though just when did it become a classic holiday dish?)In my home, growing up, and until my blended family led their evil revolt against it…the holiday classic, particularly for Easter…was “Cheese Nip Casserole.”

You take a few cans of asparagus. Chopped works great and you usually find the chopped asparagus at a lower price. Drain the asparagus. Add a can of cream of mushroom soup. Top with crushed Cheese Nips/Cheez-its. Bake until warm and bubbly.

  1. This is the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten in my life. But, I’m looking forward to eating it again this Easter. Maybe I’ll like it better this year.
